HELLAU-ALAAF—these are the screamed words that you will hear since today, especially in the area around North Rhine-Westphalia.
November 11th, 11.11 a.m. and it’s c-a-r-n-v-e-a-l time in Germany!!! We say “Die Narren sind los” (hm, maybe “the fools are around”?). [photo: source] Some call it the fifth season of a year…ha…I’m not in carnival mood until February when we here in the North of Germany celebrate carnival. But Cologne already had a big party today.

I have some new CDs since today…one of them is “Rammstein-Herzeleid” – yeah! Not the newest album (from 1995), but it was a bargain and this album is one of the best As I just see, Rammstein won the MTV Eurpoean Music Award in the category “best German act” this month. [source] I didn’t listen to their new album called “Rosenrot” yet, but I mostly like the old stuff better But, if you’re interested how Rammstein sounds…[here] they offer a few songs from their new album as audio stream. But be careful with your volume *g* the bass is heavy *mosh* The album “Reise Reise” (2004) will be my next album. I’m not a big fan or something like that (and I don’t get money for promoting them *g*), it is just the right music for special moments….I mean special happy or also special frustrated or stressed moments in life. Try it out. It works. I now that Rammstein are very popular in the States? Where else? (…photos removed…)

Okaaay, to mention it quickly…I changed the design of my blog again. Finally I could find out how to remove the ugly dots around the main posts (the IE showed these dots bigger…that doesn’t mean that I’m using the Internet Explorer (IE), I use Firefox and with it it was fine).
But anyway, I removed the dot lines, but left the dotted underlines for the titles.
New font (verdana vs. tahoma), different font sizes (still not sure if I should make the actual font size smaller) and small tiny changes here and there and almost everywhere which I don’t want to write down now. (I’m such a perfectionist/mentioned in a previous post I think…never satisfied with sth.)
But if you don’t like something or have a better idea for this template, please tell me…I can handle every criticism
I’m interested in creating my complete own design…next year, when I have time….maybe… .

Fine Food (f)versus Frustration

Long time no food blog…was my thought and excuse to make a short break of my work

I am frustrated because I want to do several things at once but the day has only 24 hours
My thesis paper is moving forward but it is hard to circumscribe it to the main topic, there are often so many interesting other ideas or points and I try to include it somehow
Sigh…yeah…must finish this soon so no more external rides…I must follow a red line…easy to say…hmm.

Ok, I don’t want to bore you with my frustration but I just want to say hello, I’m still alive. More or less.

A few days ago (or even over a week ago) I made my third apple cake…no I think it was an apple pie…grrr I can never decide which is which (or what is what?)…see the photo and decide by yourself:
Because I didn’t have time for visitors at the moment the only eaters of this very delicious apple pie (I think it is more a pie than a cake) were my dad and I
This one is almost better or same good as the last one (when Anja-II visited me). Hard to decide…my dad likes the second the most.

Now almost all apples from this year are gone.

My dad brought more than 200kg of our apples to a company where they make apple juice out of it. So we got plenty of juice (bottles) now Very good juice by the way…it is not the juice of your own apples but of everybodys or every farmers apples. We could decide if we want to have the natural juice or the clear one or even other juice mixes…with cherry or mango for instance. I like the natural apple juice the most =) Together half and half with mineral water we call it “Apfelschorle”…apple spritzer?

Yes and then I had the first “Gruenkohl” last Saturday. Gruenkohl is a very famous traditional kind of green cabbage (I think only available in Germany). I forgot my camera so I can only show you a picture how the cabbage looks like. The pic is from the internet:

The northern Germans who live here in the federal state called “Schleswig-Holstein” eat “Gruenkohl” different as others in Germany. We sprinkle sugar on it yeah, sounds strange – sugar on cabbage…I know…but it tastes so much better and it is typical for this region here. Don’t ask me why.
Together with “Gruenkohl” we eat small potatoes, pork cheek, smoked pork loin and a smoked fatty pork sausage called “Pinkel” (“pinkeln” means to pee, but that has nothing to do with the sausage…lol). Yes, it sounds like lots of meat, huh?
But the most what you have on your plate is the “Gruenkohl”, the green cabbage.

Sorry that I started to talk only about food again but I cannot post about something else at the moment. Nothing remarkable happend.
I’m fine, just a little bit stressed out because of not enough sleep. Skin problems as usual but not too bad. Too much chocolate as usual…bad. Maybe a reason for my skin problems *g*

Four weeks and a bit left before my plane starts towards ME – yeah!

Doof-Dumm-Desaster-Deutschland

Ja hallo erstmal,
(Sorry, I decided to write this post in German, because it is about a German TV show and I thought it would be only interesting for my German friends)

Ich wollte dieses posting eigentlich schon noch vor dem Halloween posting machen…hab’s etwas vergessen aber nun habe ich es doch noch mal gestartet, auch wenn’s schon fast “alt” ist…aber vielleicht haben es einige einfach nicht mitbekommen und wollen die Stellung von Guenther Jauch (Haende ueber Kopf) gerne auch noch mal nachmachen…(ich habe es schon ausgiebig getan und mir dabei fast was verrenkt).

Ich konnte es einfach nicht fassen als ich vor kurzer Zeit mal “Wer wird Millionaer” geguckt habe und mich fragte, wie so einige Kandidaten es ueberhaupt bis in die Sendung auf den Stuhl vor Guenther Jauch schaffen?!

Bei Günter Jauch sitzen anscheinend nicht immer die hellsten Köpfchen auf dem Ratestuhl, was eine Kandidatin der letzten Sendungen bewies und ganz Deutschland zum Kopfschuetteln gebracht hat. (stand eigentlich was in den Medien? Ich habe naemlich nichts mitbekommen, da ich ja so in meine Arbeit vertieft bin)

Die (ich glaube es war die 300 Euro-) Frage lautete:
“Was kommt in vielen Kriminalfilmen zum Einsatz?”
A: 58er Capri
B: 77er Dolomiti
C: 45er Magnum
D: 69er Flutschfinger

Tja ha, die gute Dame hatte doch tatsaechlich erst auf A getippt und dachte wohl an Autos…
Doch dann war sie sich so ziemlich sicher, dass es D, der Flutschfinger, sein muss!
Naja, dann hat sie halt das Publikum befragt und es kam halt zu 90% C raus. Hmm…grosse Ueberlegungen zusammen mit Jauchi….wer’s gesehen hat, hat’s wohl genossen…denn der Jauch hat diese Dame fast gekillt…mit Worten.

Selbst nachdem sie sich dann fuer das Publikum und somit Antwort C entscheiden hatte, wusste sie nicht was ein Flutschfinger ist *kopfschuettel* aber sie ist wenigstens in die naechste Runde gekommen…puhh!

In der naechsten Sendung ging es weiter mit ihr und sie blieb an folgender Frage haengen:
Sie nutzte ihren Telefon-Joker, allerdings wusste der auch keine Antwort.
Die gute Frau tendierte zu B: Megadreisat!!!!!!

Dann hatte sie nur noch einen Joker übrig, den 50:50 Joker.
……naaa?…..ja nee, echt…sie hat es aufgegeben und ist mit 2000 Euronen nach Hause gegangen.
Guenther sagte noch was wie “ein historisches Ereignis, noch nie mussten wir jemand mit so wenig nach Hause schicken…” oder so aehnlich…Ich glaube ihm war es auch mehr als unangenehm!

Weitere peinliche Antworten auf doch relativ einfache Fragen (ohne hier jemandem zu Nahe treten zu wollen), die ich im Netz gefunden habe…ein bisl was zum Schmunzeln und sich schlau fuehlen

Na, da mochte er wohl nicht A nehmen, sondern erstmal sicher gehen oder wie..??? Also die Frage ist ja schon sehr lustich…wenn er lange ueberlegen musste haett ich ja auch D getippt Oder warum koennen Forellen eigentlich nicht sprechen? Wuerde mich auch mal interessieren!

Hey Muffy Man…Okay das Badewasser muesste mal wieder angewaermt werden…nimm doch mal den Muff dafuer! Und das Mittagessen ist auch schon wieder kalt…

Mann mußte ebenfalls den Joker verschwenden.

Jaaaa, beim Metzger wird der Hund auf jeden Fall verrueckt…denn er hat Angst vorm geschlachtet werden, jedenfalls in so einigen Laendern *g*
Und unterm Christbaum ist es auch so schrecklich pieksig, das kann einen auch voll verrückt machen…in der Sauna ist es fuer so ein Felltier eh zu heiss…also?
Hmm…keine Ahnung…echt schwere Frage.
