Steve was here and the party was hot and brutal

Oh oh, my last entry already is a few weeks ago…I always wanted to write something, but never had time or was too tired to turn on the computer.
So now, I’m back…hopefully writing more regularly from now on.

As I mentioned it to some of my friends via email, Steve from Sacramento,California/US (whom I know from Australia) was in Hamburg for a visit. YEAH! That already was at the 23rd of September (Saturday).

I drove to Hamburg and after a long time of driving around being totally lost (excuse: it was dark, I didn’t have a map, night-blind me, women don’t have a good orientation) I reached Andy’s house.
It was great to see Steve again after 2 years. He was still the same, only his hair was shorter (no punk head anymore, hehe). He had a friend with him. Also from Sacramento. Pink hair. Tattoo’s all over as well *g* I’d say two real California guys :)
Andy’s girlfriend Katharina was there as well. I haven’t seen her since Australia as well. Great reunion!!

After a big hello and a little chat with having a welcome beer we drove with the bus into town to party. First we were hungry, so we went to a noble sushi place called “Bok”. I was there before, so I knew that it was good. The Americans got a German Menu first and after pester me with questions about what-is-this-and-that we got English menu’s ;-) Here’s a photo of us eating:

After dinner we were ready for party on the famous “Reeperbahn”, a long street with lots of sex shops, bars, clubs, music halls where you can start your party night very well. It’s on of Hamburg’s must-see sight, so we brought Steve and his friend to it. The roads were totally crowded with people. It reminded me of the world cup. Party people everywhere. Lots of them. Drunken people, trash, empty beer bottles on the roads everywhere…

We started at a bar called “Sommersalon”. Steve and his friend were overwhelmed by the party athmosphere on the roads and everywhere…it was like worldcup or New Years or like both together ;) No, it was Reeperbahn festival on this weekend, that’s why. Great!
Of course we couldn’t be on the “Kiez” (that’s how the Reeperbahn also is called) without showing them the “Herbert Strasse”. Click on the link to see photos. It’s a 60 m long street, forbidden for women (that says everything), and not for guys under 18 years….because you’ll see prostitutes in underwear, sitting on bar chairs, posing, talking to you because they want…you can guess it. During the Nazism stripping and prostitution was prohibited, but the Nazis knew that a complete ban wouldn’t work, so they only allowed it in this street. They used the high gates on each side that nobody can see the forbidden things. The gates are still there, as you can see on the photos here .

Katharina and I waited at the other side of the Herbert street to meet the drooly guys after they gazed at the hot babes. Their eyes wide-opened and a happy smile, that’s how they looked like, when they came out of the exit gate. *biggrin*

We went to another bar and had a really fun night.
Let the pictures speak:

Beer was cheap (2€), music was good (rock), girls were pretty (as the Americanos said), we were drunk (of course), I got accidently hit hard by a guys elbow under my eye which was felt sorry for with a free tequila (that I cheekily claimed *hehe*), we danced, I got another clout (Kopfnuss) from Andy hard on my nose (accidently of course, luckily no bruises in face after all that “brutality” *g*), it was a hard night *rrrr* and we danced and danced until the early morning and arrived somehow at Andy’s home at around 6.30 am.
I woke up 3 hours later but the Americanooos thought they better sleep til around 2pm! Unfair.
After a good brunch at Andy’s we went for a beautiful walk around the Alster (see photos), downtown, and to the big harbor. It was a beautiful day.

Steve, I know that you didn’t want to leave Germany/Europe, because you loved the european chicks :P
It was great to see you and I hope I/we can make it to meet next time I’m in the States. I want to check out the California cowboys *yeeehaa*

To be continued…
