Green Cola at farmer fair NORLA in Rendsburg

Here are some, from a fair in Rendsburg that is a town 30 minutes from Kiel. The NORLA simply is a farmer’s fair. I worked for the itzehoer insurance as green Cola in our nice frog-(quietsch)-green clothes
We supported a game with helium air balloons where people put their name on a little paper that we knot onto a balloon. We collected all balloons. At the end of each fair day we then let them all fly into the sky. The balloon that flew the farthest wins a prize (a bike).
As usual we also made photos with the visitors, which were uploaded to the company’s website photo gallery. Visitors can send them as online-postcards. We also had our bags full of give-aways, including the always most wanted green air filled plastic hands.
Because of a strong wind that we had that day, the balloon straps were extremely afoul (verheddert). The result was that most of the balloons flew in a big thick bundle together into the sky.
Too bad, but I’d say it was the mistake of the marketing guys who didn’t really plan this game enough…because:
We had no possibility to store the hundrets of balloons inside of the indoor fair tents where we wouldn’t have had the wind problem.
It’s always the well-thinking behind everything and a good marketing campaign/event needs more than only a good idea. Yup :P
Would have been great if we had side walls for our outdoor tent (we only had a roof and four open sides) to avoid the wind going though and to avoid escaping the helium balloons too easily, but well….
I asked if we have a net that we can hang around our tent. Nope, we didn’t have one, but a guy from the insurance company drove to a shop to buy such a net. Well, it was better than before. The balloons didn’t escape anymore, but still we had to store the balloons outside the tent.
We bind them with their long straps onto a steel pole next to our tent.
Unfortunately the wind caused a totally balloon-straps-clutter. Well, we did our best to solve the problem. Still we needed scissors to cut some “free”.
Hmm…sometimes I think I should get better paid because I often offer my ideas and help with organisation and fixing problems so that they feel great at the end of such a mistake-day, because everything went ok and their boss is happy because he thinks that the employee did a great job. Pah.
(Sales) Promoter are often more than only kind, nice looking, and nice smiling advertiser! I’m always too good for the world anyway *awwww-I know*
However, here are some of our promo pics…and me in green with my always big grin…*lol*
As you can see, it was a very nice sunny day, still very warm. Sniff. That was at the end of september…one of the last nice warm days of this year I guess…. Now it already is autumnal, colder, mostly rainy and (oh no) dark at 7:00 pm.
