Planet Cola
Bad things are everywhere. Living is about appreciating the good ones.

Happy blog rebirth

Tataa, you found the way to the new web address of my Ex-MissyCola blog!

New blog means opportunity for a new design and also a new name.
Something that I already had in mind for a while is: choCOLA.de. Got it?
Ok, I help you: “Cola” is my nickname that I got from my boyfriend. So now you know…hihi…for those who still wondered…by the way: I don’t drink Cola! Haha, now you may wonder why he calls me Cola…one hint: it has nothing to do with the famous drink.
The “.de” is the top level domain and known abbreviation for Deutschland (Germany) where I am from and the whole word is….chocolade…put an ‘s’ at the beginning and you have the German word for chocolate, my (well-known) addiction :)

I also wanted to try out WordPress, “a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform [or software] with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability” (wordpress.org). I think it offers more features, flexibility and control for my blog.
I hope you like the new design. It was a lot of work to make it look nice *sigh* but good thing was that I could revise and deepen my programming knowledge; especially in PHP and database stuff.

People who know me know that I’m very ambitious and often cannot be happy with anything, so you can believe me that I often floated between despairation and happyness. Damn code and damn browser, which display (the same) content totally different! I tested my blog with Firefox 1.0.7 and Internet Explorer 6,SP2. Also damn, because I considered “coding” can be fun as well…yeah, honestly!

Please change the link of my blog now in your bookmarks (if you didn’t bookmark it yet, you get your chance now *g* Press [strg]+[D] or [CTRL]+[D]).

You can (still) comment on my postings and you can also leave me a message in my *new* guestbook (see the link under “Pages”). There is still a link to my old guestbook…I don’t know how long I’ll use it, because I don’t like the ads.
If you have any trouble with my blog concerning loading time, right display of content and right font (I use arial black for headlines and verdana for the post text), broken functionalities, etc., please let me know! Thx.
…let’s stay in touch!

So long,
miss colanja.

P.S.: miss…split personality (hehe, I’m gemini) or just to simplify matters…or just for the ‘un’-smart people of this planet…who knows.

chocoLOVE poem #1

Yeah, you should know me…I can’t stand chocolate, especially when I told you about this chocolate that has a love poem inside….it makes me so fidgety ;-) On one hand I was so curious about the poem, but on the other hand I wanted to save this special chocolate bar in its very beautiful package.

see at chocolove.com

Then, as if my sweetie heard my pressure to take a decision – open or not – he send me two more of these chocolove bars (but in different tastes). So I opened the one that I got for Christmas (see photo) :) The poem is printed on the inside wrapper. Here it is:

Chloe Divine

Cloe’s a Nymph in flowery groves,
A Nereid in the streams;
Saint-like she in the temple moves,
A woman in my dreams.

Love steals artillery from her eyes,
The Graces point her charms;
Orpheus is rivall’d in her voice,
And Venus in her arms.

Never so happily in one
Did heaven and earth combine:
And yet ’tis flesh and blood alone
That makes her so divine.

(Thomas D’Urfey)

For my German readers:
My first question after reading the poem was: what is “nereid” as it is written in the second line of the poem? It says in German: “die Nereide”. Ha, that doesn’t help me (I’m not that good with foreign German words, sorry). In my book for foreign words it says: “Meerjungfrau (mermaid), Tochter des Nereus (daughter of Nereus) oder (or) Vertreter der Familie der vielborstigen Würmer (exponent of the family of the bristly worms?)”. Letzteres kommt hier wohl nicht in Frage. (Last expression makes no sense here). Yeah, at least I learned a new English and a new German word today :-)…and I ate 2/3 of the Chocolove bar during writing this post…yammy!

Rainy day but on cloud nine

Hey-ho!!!
As you could read yesterday I waited for a package from my sweetheart.
And: it arrived today! Yes, it can rain the whole day today (it does!) because I am on cloud nine :D In Germany we say “auf Wolke sieben”, that would mean cloud seven, not nine. So I am floating even higher in English…haha.

Ok, I guess you’re the same excited as I am (was) so I tell you what was in the package:
Two special chocolate bars called “chocolove”, one with 33% cocoa and hazelnuts and one with 55% cocoa content. Both have a love poem inside. I’ll let you know about it ;-)
What else…two packages of Necco “sweethearts”. Candy in heart forms with little messages on them like “miss you”, “call me”, “be mine”, “kiss me”, “I love you”, and so on. I found out here that they are an “American classic” since 1866 and the #1 non-chocolate Valentine’s Day candy! Whoo-hoo! Good that I got two packages, so I can open one and save one *g*
Else I got a soap, signed by Heather, a friend of Nate and a friend of mine now, too :) The olive & aloe soap is called “kiss my face”. Thanks so much Heather!
I got the newspaper from beginning of February in which my Valentine is on a big picture on the first page in an article called “Young at art”. The article and the photo makes more than half of the first page from the space – wow! Last but not least I got a very cute Valentine’s greeting card that is folded in several pieces and that has a beautiful wording with additions from my Valentine :) I’m totally romantic so it got me right in my heart *sniff* but it was not kitschy (corny?). Just right and lovely….sigh. There are kangaroos as a couple on the card, which is cute because my friend and I met in Australia :) *hach-wie-schön*

Too bad that it is raining today, because I cleaned 9 from 15 windows of my house two days ago because it seemed to stay the same sunny as it was the last week, for a longer time….grrrrr!
Always the same…when I really push myself to clean my windows (I don’t like to do it) , it will rain the next day(s). The same with my car. If I wash it (that happens maybe once a year), it will rain…the following day.
However, today nothing can annoy me, because I am on cloud nine. *pling*

Valentina’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Normally I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day.
I think it is not as popular in Germany as in other countries, for example Britain or the States.
My sweetheart who lives in the craziest VD-country (you know where) likes to surprise me and of course on the (almost most) special date (of the year): February Fourteen. He said that he sent something with the mail. Hmm, I think the mail was too slow, so I don’t know what it is yet, but I got a package from his mother today instead *smile*

How did you surprise your (secret) luv today?

However, I hope you had a beautiful day with love-surprises or without ;-)
Valentine’s Day is not too bad, I just don’t like all that commercial stuff.

Yours, Cola-Valentina

…who crossed the fingers for me today
and who supported me!

You want to know how it was?
It worked out very well – YEAHHH!!
I made an HD (1,3/90-94%) in my colloquium (presentation) and got the mark for my master thesis as well: HD (1,3/90-94%). *big relieved grin* :)

I was sooo nervous though ;-)
I didn’t expect that presenting in english can still be a challenge for me,
who studied now an english speaking master for two years,
with 8 months living and studying in Australia
did presentations in english all the time
talking to my english speaking luv almost every day.
Hmm, but I think it was more my nervousness, that
annoyed me and made me insecure. And I knew that my presentation would be too long for the time limit that I got (25min.). But, nobody complained :D

Anyhow, I think, my examiners really liked my presentation
and my presenting style..ha. (not to forget my special charm :p)
I heard words like: “…you did very well and you are presenting good
as always, I think you are very good at it and it is no problem for you (big smile)
It was interesting (what a flowery phrase) and you ‘drew the bow” very well”…

Ok, if you say so….I can say: Thank you – ICH HABE FERTIG!
:p

I am very happy now, Y.E.E.E.S!
all worries and all stress are over,
I’m now done with study
and free for the next level of life.

See you there…in the real life…!

Thank you for your attention!
Any Questions?
