It was rather an accident. I found out that not only a butter bread always falls on the butter side, also a whole (open) butter container (with, of course, a pound of butter inside). Damn!

I already knew that I’m famous, at least in Maine (US), or better in Orono, Bangor and around, hihi.
By accident I found the article, which was in the newspaper in Maine (ME), also online, so I can proudly blog it:
Early Friday evening, Carnegie Hall opened its doors for its last Student Art Show and Awards, considered the highlight of UMaine’s student exhibitions. Overflowing with students, faculty and supportive community members, the event is easily a highlight of Orono’s cultural landscape as well.
The work was spread out over Carnegie’s two floors, with more than 100 pieces in various media being shown, ranging from two-dimensional work to sculptural work, as well as new media and multimedia pieces. One of the first and most engaging pieces was an installation work by N. S. called “From Me to You.”
Set up in the corner of the gallery was a mock-up of S’ work space, with a desk, laptop, and bulletin board covered with photos of his girlfriend, missycola, residing in Germany. Stevens sat in a desk chair, writing a letter to missycola on small strips of paper which were being sliced into thin strips by a shredder suspended on the wall. The eventual goal, S said, was to write a letter that could cover the entire distance from Veazie to Eckenforde, Germany, and then to release it via homing pigeon, which would carry a stream of paper behind it as it flew across the ocean. Aside from the poetic value, S also joked that this method was cheaper than the postal service, saying that the overall length of paper would be 3,413 miles, or 1707 rolls of computer paper. He’s holding off on the bird for now.
I know, artists are strange people *big grin* but read the rest of the article (with photos, unfortunately not from the love letter project) here.

Something personal:
I want to congratulate my dear sweet lovely great hon-luv-babe Natey on his graduation!!! I’m very proud of you, especially because you made it under the best 10% *smoochy* that means you graduated with honors…and you did a double major…damn! you’re such a wise guy, hehe *smooch*
WowY! Lots of hugs and kisses !
Good that you’ll make the money for us now *cheeky grin*
Only 9 days til our ‘reunion’…
Spamorama War
I don’t know if it was a fault to sign up for Technorati with my blog but since a few days my blog gets around 80 spam comments or trackbacks a day :annoyed: I activated the Spam Karma 2 plugin again (It was running before but then I switched it off because I thought I won’t really need it). Spam Karma filters or blocks a lot spam but then I made a mistake in the settings and all my comments got into the blacklist, the list that hosts the ignored entries. That meant that almost all comments of my blog dissapeared.
Then I installed Akismet (another WP plugin) as well and fortunately all my worries went away. After activating it, it showed all spam comments and also the ones that are there by mistake. I could click them each back into the approved comments, my luck!
But still, I don’t know what is wrong at the moment?!! I know that I am not the only one who reports tons of spam entries. I can just say: get off you damn dumb spammers you won’t get a single click if you act like this. Leave the private personal blogs alone!!!
I hope you like it in my Spam Jail or in my blacklist.
Despairing?
I know that some of my readers are despaired because they want to know the solution for my last Picola quiz ~hello sis, thanks for the reminder~. Sorry, I wanted to publish it last friday already; I forgot…
Someone had also tried to get the right answer through the phone…careful! smart artists are around this time of the year.
Nobody else tried to guess again, so I think it was really a bit too difficult. Sorry. I will give my best with the next Picola; coming soon.
But here’s the right answer to the last Picola Quiz numero 3.
It shows a cross-section of a pear (not only a fruit, a pear! and a cut through the thick bottom part of it). You need to eat more fruit(s!) guys…
Age
Now I have it in cold print (schwarz-auf-weiß). My biological age is 22,9. YEAH-YAY! Hihi, not bad not bad….I remember December 2005 when someone guessed I am 18 (when I was in Maine). That was probably just a try of a compliment. Or I look younger in winter time when
Normally people guess I am 22, so the test is very close with 22,9.
Ok, you don’t believe me? Here’s the proof (only in German). The test takes about 2mins and is available here .
NOTICE: I crashed my email notification subscription plugin that was running for at least 2 days
I wanted to update the settings and then it happened. I tried to reinstall it twice, but it is not working yet. I will find the mistake hopefully tomorrow…grrr Cola always plays to much with things she doesn’t understand ;P I removed the subscription link in the left column, til it is working again *snieff*.
2 Diffi Cult…
my Picola quiz? Ok, in normal English: Is my actual Picola quiz too difficult?? I don’t really know how many already played my Picola Quiz No.3 (see post before). Hmm….I’ll wait til tomorrow and then I’ll unban you (at least Nate and my sis), ok?
I will try to make the next quiz easier and hope that I didn’t lose some gamers already…
Today was a good day, because, first: it’s Nate’s birthday and my birthday package that I sent reached him exactly today – great! I set my alarm clock to 6 a.m.! this morning what was midnight for him (US), for congratulating him first :smooch: and as surprise. The big wonder: I really woke up (I guess, if sth. is really important I can wake up immediately). Unfortunately his mobile phone was switched off, he was already sleeping. Damn. No foxed phone, no other possibility to reach him. Ok, I went back to sleep, at least for two and a half more hours. Hope your dinner was nice and you had a great birthday, hon.
Four letters that mean money for me…e-b-a-y. After a longer break I started again with ebaying. Nooo, I’m not in shopping mood, I’m more in selling mood
Or better: I need to sell a lot of stuff that I don’t need, that is in a too good condition as having it lying around. Therefore I prepared several sales in the program ‘turbo lister’ that eBay offers for preparing auctions offline. It took me half a day (even more) to write the text to every item, doing research for more product infos, measure items, take photos, edit them sometimes and fill in all other important details…sigh…but in the end, after I uploaded my auctions, I found out that eBay reduced the fee for today, May 4th! What a lucky day – Yeeha! Cool, normally I miss the days with a reduced fee.
Keep your fingers crossed that I’ll sell my items well!
More new blog stuff can be proudly presented:
A new subscribe possibility in the left column. Just type in your email address to subscribe to my blog posts. Every time I publish a post, you’ll get a notice via email. I’ll offer opt-in and opt-out (for the specialists, hehe), which means you have to confirm your right email address with answering it through clicking on a link and you can always un-subscribe (if you really want to).
I now have smileys in my blog, in the comment and guest book area. I had a long discussion with myself about using smileys in my blog or not. In the end the devil won
You can use the smileys by clicking on them (you must allow java-script with your browser, what everyone normally does). This feature is not working with the Internet Explorer though, but the developer is working on it. Thanks to Thomas Montague for the nice plugin! I like the different possibilites of use, changing and adding smileys. It is very easy to understand and use, I just hope that it’ll work for IE users soon, although I hope that everone uses other browsers than IE (Firefox for instance).
Today during looking for smileys in the net I found a typical thing of forgotten language. In an online forum I read this line: “awwww how cum it dusnt work i reelly lyke these tho………” Is this just cool or why do some people write English words like that? I think there is limit that is more than reached when writing come as cum. But that’s maybe only my opinion, because I’m German and try to write correct English. I agree with using abbreviations for often used words, but writing words totally wrong because they sound the same, but look different is not cool it’s just poor (=my opinion, I’m living in a free, democratic country, please tolerate that ;)).
By the way, on May 1st, our Labour Day (Tag der Arbeit), I was completely offline! You think it is nothing special? Ha, then ask me, addicted to all computer stuff and being online every day…! (Oh, sorry hon, can you please overread this part *g*).
Two years ago a fellow student (I guess it was you Sven?) had the idea of a day where we multimedia students meet to relax, do sports as canoing, inline skating and biking together and MAIN(e)LY being completely offline from all online media, which is computer, internet, mobile phone, digital camera, mp3 player, all digital stuff… This was a hard task for a lot of us students.
Last Tuesday then I celebrated our famous “Offlinetag” (offline day) with fellow students in Kiel, where my university is. We did canoing on the river “Schwentine”. Each boat had three ‘passengers’. What great fun! I paddled with Ron and Sven, two good friends. Sven was eating all the time and Ron was relaxing instead of paddling, so I brought us along the river :P for about 2 hours (not further than we got, hon). The weather was sunny and warm; I didn’t expect that after all-day rain the day before.
After the sports action *puh* we filled our empty stomachs with a very nice BBQ that we enjoyed on the lawn in front of our school cafeteria. Some guys took photos (of course with analogue camera). When the films are developed and scanned to a CD, I’ll show you the pics. Analogue life can be slow sometimes…sometimes?…emm yepp. And Cola is very impatient…
Damn, I should write less, nobody will read this all…must post more often or split posts in separate posts.
#Counting…25 days…. *excited*
