Old Halloween Impressions

Sigh…the good old time(s) in Perth, I miss them, especially this time of the year, because it’s exactly 2 years ago that I was in great Aussieland.
Each year when it’s Halloween I must look at the photos that we took at our great Halloween party in Matt and Steve’s house in Perth.
Just to remember it together, here are some (ok, I posted them last year as well, but I guess not everyone has seen them yet):

Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.0

For those of you, who don’t know it yet, a quick recommendation:
There is an updated version (a new release) of the Internet Explorer and the Mozilla Firefox browser available!

I was always a fan of the Firefox browser, but the new version of the IE (Version 7) impresses me!
The first time that my weblog looks the same with both browsers, because the IE always displayed some design elements differently.
Now the IE uses tabs as well.
I still use “my” beloved Firefox, but from the first view I would say that the Microsoft developers did a big step toward better browsing.

So, please everyone update your Internet Explorer (if you’re an IE user) to the newest version and my Blog-choCOLAde will be more pretty for you.
It is also recommended to update the Firefox, because of fixed security vulnerabilities and improved browsing aspects.

The website for the new version of Firefox, click here.
The website for the new version of the IE, click here.

That’s it for now, have a good start in the week.
I’m not ill anymore (I think), yay. Only a 5 days cold, that’s not too bad. My health program was probably very good.

No Halloween party for ill Cola

In a couple of days is Halloween. The parties already were yesterday or the day before here.
I didn’t go to a party. I was ill and I worked Thursday and yesterday doing some sales promotion in Hamburg. Yesterday was the John Lennon Talent Award in the “Docks” club/hall in Hamburg. The five newcomer bands all were pretty good. I worked at the entry with a colleague and we had fun with the security guys who split pizza, chips and pretzel sticks with us, gave us (or better my colleague) roses (just a cheap flirt), and brought us drinks; very nice. ;) Actually I worked in my bright green “dress” again, but this time our job was a little different. No air balloons (yeah), no air-filled plastic hands (yeah yeah), just taking photos of the visitors, manage the guest list, give stamps to the guests, distribute flyers and give aways and promote the event, of course. Very easy going job this time for ill Cola.

Here you see the a collection of the band flyer cards and my “necklace” :)
band flyer cards

Else I was lying in bed/on couch under a thick blanket, drinking lots of tea with lots of honey, unfortunately ate lemons and mandarins too much, so that my skin is totally irritated now. Damn, I must have known that, because I shouldn’t eat lemon fruits. You know that I’m a sensitive allergy-missy. But, what can you do? I could have gone to a Halloween party without wearing a costume, is that enough to say? Hehe…actually not very funny, but I’m glad that my skin feels better today. No more horror Cola.
If you have the fall-flu or feel bored you can save Max the ghost in a jump and run online game (free and easy to play)

As you can see below, I have a new “mood checker”! In case you cannot read between my lines, you still know how I feel. I don’t know, if I’ll always want to tell you my mood, but we’ll see :) But since I’m Gemini AND a woman my mood might change quickly.

I hope you had/have a sweet halloween party,
hhhuuuuauaaaaahhhhh!

Love in a cup

Or my amazing “milk foam grounds” result from a latte macchiato made by my best friend Anja!

I don’t read my coffee grounds (kaffeesatz), I read my MILK FOAM grounds now. :)

It says:

love-in-milk-foam

LOVE. Pure Love. Well-defined.

I talked to my friend Anja about mrNatey and missycola and their plans…so I take the cup-result as a good sign for the future of our love =)

Kisses for my (missed) mister chocolato.
P.S.: I can make art, too. Only by drinking coffee and thinking of you.

Bad bad internet or maybe the best invention?

First, I’m glad to tell you that my PiCola Quiz was just solved. Congrats to Mr. Bob!!
Else I’m very busy at the moment with work and with my offline life. Besides I’m thinking about building a new weblog. Actually I already created one…I’m just playing around with designs and develop/improve-ment.
The new blog will be probably in German then…I’m not sure yet, but I think, my German readers are mostly the ones who really write comments here…maybe my English is a hassle for my international readers? I hope it’s not too bad?
Hmmm, I don’t know, if can handle two blogs at the same time though. It already is not enough time to write one blog as often as I could tell you my great and (careful, here comes some Cola-irony) always interesting stories *g*.

The World Wide Web. Based on the internet. Everyone knows it, a lot of people know how to use it and almost everyone uses it at least once in a while. I found two movies about the topic of advantage or disadvantage of the “net”.
There is no good and bad; mostly good and bad things are interdependent, but look and see:

In the following two movies you see how AmericaOnLine shows the internet-influenced-world, starting with the negative version:

(link to the “bad-internet” movie)

or

(link to the “good-internet” movie)

via basicthinking.

I’m a pro (what else did you expect from me *lol*…sorry hon). The internet is good (for me) because it offered me more advantages than disadvantages yet. It also brought me away from television, yupp it made me a TV-avoider ;o).

Of course I don’t like to be transparent/naked to everyone (although I’m a little exhibitionist, hihi), but if you know the rules, the you can brake them! Means, I know how to protect my identity at least more than others do.

Honestly once in a while I like to play being a spy (a nice spy though). Sometimes the internet can be very useful to find out things that are important for your further life (about things, people, relations, and so on). I know who you are and I know where you live and don’t play with me, don’t lie, I know everything! Hehe!! :)
The internet helped me to find the truth about someone that I had a relationship with a few years ago. I was happy that he was not aware (I avoid the word ‘smart’ here, because others will then say that I’m “man-hating”) enough because he never knew what I knew, even not after enough hints from MY side.
Ok, he wasn’t one of the cleverest guys on earth. Sorry I couldn’t avoid saying this. He still is one of the ignorant and unknowing men of this planet, pssssst.
I’m glad the internet still simplifies my life. What I want to know, I’m mostly able to find out…in the world wide web.
planetcola is innocent (yet) and if that changes she knows how to hide.

Yours Miss ColaMarple

Hunting Euros

I feel like I’m (being?) hunted. It seems like everyone wants my money at the moment. I was so happy to earn more this month, but I won’t save much (as expected) because I have to give it to: A clothing company where I ordered clothes last winter. They wrote me that they made a wrong accounting entry and the transferred about 540 Euro too much – 540!- to my account (after all the clothes order and return mix-up). I must check this, but probably they are right. They want to have the money until this Friday (what a bad joke, but it’s true); in 4 days.
I wrote them a letter yesterday and asked for more time for me to check the whole thing (oh my god, I really forgot how to write the word letter…ohoh…thanks for online dictionaries that help against my empty brain *g*).
Anyway, today, I wanted to finish my tax return (finally), but then I ended up calculating how much my study loan (bafoeg) from the last years will be…or what my outstanding debt is. During playing with lots of numbers my dad brought me a letter (looks still weird the word *g*) from the company of my study loans.
Guess what?!
They calculated the years 2002 til 2004 again (concerning my parents’ earnings). In these years I got an amount of money (loan) every month, but now they calculated that I got too much. They want me to pay them 487 Euro back. In the following 4 weeks! Sigh…
Everyone seems to point at me and says “hey thanks for working hard and earning good money…so now you can give us some, harrr harrr harrr” :(
Well, I called the study loan company (in Germany it they are called Bafoeg Amt).
First of all they wrote the letter on the 29th of September and I got it today (16th of October!!), so I already have 2 weeks less from their 4 weeks of time limit to pay. Not nice guys!
Luckily the guy on the phone said that I can ask (via letter…LETTER, my word of the day) for an extension of the payment. Yeah, that sounded good to me.
So I will write this letterrrr tomorrow. I hope that I can split the payment in at least 5 pieces…Or does anyone wants to donate some money to me *smile* Just kidding…

I should write more letters…snail mail…too often neglected…okay, who wants to get a letter from me? Send me your address. You’ll get a personal German postcard (signed by missycola). Honestly! First come first serve. Favored, if you’re not from Germany. Be quick. Don’t cheat and hang loose…

Another type of my PiCola Quiz (5)

Hey my dear quiz-lovers,

Four posts in three days, wow, you must think I’m bored at the moment. No, I haven’t too much time either, but I’m better organized at the moment or my multitasking option works better when it’s cooler outside (*g*) or whatever it is; I thought, long time no PiCola Quiz.

Here it comes!
A PiCola Quiz that is a little bit different than the last ones ;-)

Highest German Lotto profit made ever

Ah…by the way, Germans seem to have too much money, because they paid 148 millions to play Lotto…

After the jackpot wasn’t cracked a few times, last Saturday a 41 years old hospital nurse won the nice sum of 37,6 million Euro at the German LOTTO.
He only paid 9,50 Euro for the lotto ticket and didn’t play the “super 6″ and the “spiel 77″ games. Well, I was the promo-lotto-fairy, because I worked for Lotto Schleswig-Holstein last week and I promoted the “spiel 77″ because one could win a car (porsche cayenne or vw eos) through it.
Now all the customers that I met, will say: “I knew that someone not from Schleswig-Holstein will win the jackpot, and why the hell did I play “spiel 77″?” Because I told ya :P At least 46 people have a nice new car now, you?

Cola again in green fun mission

Yup, it’s me, the green Cola again. Sorry, but that’s what I did the last week(s) and this time I have some funny photos for you as well.

Last Sunday we advertised the Itzehoer Insurance in Itzehoe…yeah, a real home town run.

It was my last work day in a row after a week of daily work. Each day 10-13 hours, just standing, walking around and talk talk talk. Things that I can do best, hihi.
I got up at 5 am, took a shower, had a small brekkie (breakfast) and drove to Kiel where I met my team at 7 am.

I was (so) happy that it was a quiet day. Actually I never had such a quiet work day for the Itzehoer insurance yet!
Chris(tine), Jan, Jane, Miriam and I had lots of fun.
Chris and I already worked during the week for “Lotto” together…so we both suffered under not enough sleep (because of getting up at 6am every day and working until 7 or 8 pm) and we also suffered under the stupidity of mankind (honestly, unbelievable) and of the more and more unfriendliness of people, what all together made us very goofy, giggly and mostly very silly that day.

Some results of our great (as usual) work of this very easy-going day, as always in (varnish) green and as always with a big smile:
144748
The last photo shows the winner of a car-win-game that we promoted as well. Next to me you see Mr. “MadMäx” (some of my Kiel friend’s may have heard of him, he’s from RSH and before he was known as “Balzi” from delta radio). On the left side you see Chris.

The childish goofy acts of the day are luckily not online at itzehoer.de in the photo gallery, but a nice colleague (thanks Johanna) saved them and send them to me.

In the following pictures you can see the dedication of our always super-active-and-exerted team to reach some air balloons that ended up in the pointy end of our tent roof.

Jan, who is 1,96 m tall *wowy*, offered his help (or no, actually I made him acting as a ladder, because of his tallness).
I (only 1,60 m) found out that it was very hard to climb on Jan’s shoulders *g*. After two tries I managed to sit (not very comfy) on this shoulders but I still was too short to reach any balloon straps (as you can see on the photos).
Chris was taking pictures and died of laughter. Ha ha…very funny. But then it was her turn to try better, and she really could get the balloons down because she could stand on Jan’s shoulders. What a funny work day.

We really love our job :)

Or better: we looove to entertain you…ehm…us…ehm whatever. It was a quite relaxed day with lots of laughs…
