Is is late but I had an idea what might be the mistake for erased text when you comment and miss to fill out the anti-spam field or other required fields, which two of my readers mentioned today.
First, I deactivated all my plugins, and activated them again.
A quick test comment without filling out the anti-spam field, and I get the typical “you missed one field to fill out”-error message.
Then, I press the browser’s back button and, unbelievable, my text and every else field (name, email, website, comment text) is still there!!!
I checked my installed plugins and saw that I forgot to activate my contact form plugin (pxsmail with akismet).
So, I activated it, made another test comment, and…after using the back button my text was gone. Well, that was easy. I had a good feeling I guess, hehe.
Yupp, unfortunately I must blame the contact form plugin for the erasing text behavior. Too bad. Otherwise, I already wondered if I really need a contact form for my blog. So far I can count the few messages I got over the form.
Conclusion: I deactivated the plugin, and you don’t have to worry to loose your text, when you forget to fill out a field.
Mau, Schwesterherz, you are welcome! *taking-a-deep-bow*
I am happy that I could find the mistake so quickly.
