Auf und davon – gone

Die Nordsee lockt und wir sind für ein paar Tage zwischen Deichen, Kühen, vielen grünen Wiesen, wunderschönen Dünenstränden und Friesenmenschen zu finden. Erster Anlaufpunkt wird Amrum sein. Wir wollen zelten und die Insel via Fahrrad erkunden. Was noch folgt, wissen wir noch nicht. Eventuell gehts noch nach Helgoland. Mal sehen. Morgen früh um 6 Uhr solls losgehen! Juchhu!

The north sea calls for a visit and we will be for a few days in between dykes, cows, many green meadows, beautiful dune beaches and Frisian people. Our first stop will be Amrum. We want to camp and discover the island via bike. We don’t know yet, what else we will do. Maybe we will visit the island Helgoland. We’ll see. Tomorrow morning at 6 am we start our trip. Yeah!

Immer wieder ein großer Spaß.
Einmal rasen mähen dauert aber dennoch knapp 2 Stunden. Es wurden weit über 200 kg Grasschnitt produziert, den wir per Anhänger zum Kompost im nächsten Dorf gefahren haben. Bis 200 kg zahlt man 3 Euro, ist man über 200 kg zahlt man 14 Euro!! Wir waren diesmal leider 20 kg drüber und mussten ein vielfaches mehr zahlen als sonst. Ärgerlich. Leider kann man vorher nicht sehen, wieviel der Anhänger wiegt, das ist das Gemeine. Man lädt ab, und zahlt. Bei unseren Mengen an Grasschnitt wäre eine eigene Anhänger-Graswaage ziemlich nützlich…

Again and again big fun.
Mowing the lawn still takes about 2 hours. We cut more than 200 kg (440 lb) grass, which we brought on our trailer to a compost place in the next village. Up to 200 kg (440 lb) one pays 3 Euro. If you’re over you pay 14 Euro!! This time we had 220 kg, which means 20 kg more, so we paid more than usually. Annoying. Unfortunately one cannot find out how much the grass on the trailer ways before. Very mean. You unload your grass and then you pay for it. Since we have so much cut grass all the time it would be useful to have a private trailer-grass-scales…
Aus lang wird bald kurz? Soon long will be short?

Wow, ich bin wirklich überrascht, dass die Mehrheit dafür ist, dass ich meine Haare sehr viel kürzer, bis ca. Kinnlänge, abschneide.
Damit hätte ich nicht gerechnet, wo doch die meisten eher auf lange Haare stehen.
Na gut, ich muss zugeben, dass mein “Langhaarfoto” auch ziemlich übel ist. Wie ich da gucke…scheußlich…*g*.
mr.Natey, dem ja eigentlich bisher egal war, was ich mit meinen Haaren mache, da an mir angeblich alles toll aussieht, meinte heute auf meinen Hinweis, dass die Mehrheit für “kinnkurz” gestimmt hätte, das würde mir nicht stehen. Er fände es nicht so gut. Aha, interessant…nun also doch nicht mehr so egal, wie viel ich abschneide…
Das Schlimmste an meinen Haaren ist eigentlich ein ziemlich intensiver Wirbel am Hinterkopf, der mich schon sehr lange ärgert. Darum kam auch der Gedanke mit den Locken, damit man die wilde Stelle nicht mehr so sieht, bzw. hoffte ich, dass die Chemie meinen Haarwuchs ändert. 
Aber nun habe ich eine neue Idee. Ich werde mir wohl so ein Haarglättungsgerät von der Firma Remington zulegen. Damit kann ich meinen Hinterkopf schön glatt bügeln und die Haare fallen hoffentlich so, wie ich es will. Oder hat jemand eine bessere Idee gegen (starke) Wirbel? Also meiner ist wirklich der Horror. Ich dachte ja immer, der geht wieder weg, weil ich den ja auch erst seit ein paar Jahren habe und nicht von Geburt an. Aber leider wird er immer schlimmer und ich muss meine Haare fast täglich waschen, was den Haaren bestimmt nicht so gut tut. Es ist zum Mäuse melken. 
Nun ja, ich komme wohl doch erst Ende nächster oder Anfang übernächster Woche dazu, zum Frisör zu gehen, da wir planen, ab Montag eine Tour an die Nordseeküste zu machen, wo wir so bis Donnerstag bleiben wollen.
Danke schon mal an alle, die bisher abgestimmt haben!!! Es ist mir eine große Hilfe. Schade nur, dass ich nicht weiß, wer für was gestimmt hat, bzw. was die Männer und was die Frauen gestimmt haben.

Wow, I am really surprised that the majority voted for much shorter hair, until chin. I didn’t expect this, because most people like long hair better, I thought. Interesting.
Well, I must admit that my “long hair photo” was/is quite bad. How I look…horrible…*g*.
Yet mr.Natey didn’t really care about my hairstyle, because he thinks everything on me looks supposedly beautiful, but after I told him that the majority voted for chin-short hair he said it would not look good. He would not like it that much. Ah…interesting…now it seems to matter, how much I cut…
The worst of my hair is a very strong cowlick at the back of my head, which annoys me for quite a while. Because of that I had the idea with the curls. I thought the curls might cover that area or the chemistry would change my hair growth. Anyway, now I have a new idea. I will probably buy a hair straightener from the company Remington to iron the back of my head very flat to make the hair fall like I want it to. Or does someone has a better idea against (strong) cowlicks? Mine is horrible. Honestly! I always thought that it will go away…some time…because I don’t have it since my birth, it cam up a few years ago and is getting worse from month to month. Sigh. I have to wash my hair almost every day now, otherwise I am unhappy with the style of my back of the head. Enough to drive me up the wall.
Well, I probably have to wait another week until I can go to the hairdresser, because we plan to make a trip to the north sea coast from Monday to Thursday.
Thank you everyone who voted yet!!! It helps me a lot. Too bad that I don’t know, who voted for what or what the guys/women chose.
Vorentscheidung – Preliminary decision

Ich habe meine kleine Umfrage ein wenig abgeändert. Die Frage, ob ich mir Locken machen soll, hat sich erledigt. Die Antwort ist: nein, Locken will ich nicht. Es gab jeweils eine Stimme “für Locken” und eine für “keine Locken”. Bitte nochmal abstimen.
Zum Frisör will ich spätestens nächste Woche. Also haltet euch ran! Wählt meine neue Haarpracht.

I changed my poll a little bit. The question, if I should make myself some curls, has been solved. The answer is: no, I don’t want curls. There was a voice “for curls” and one for “no curls”. Please vote again.
I want to go to the hairdresser next week at the latest. Therefore, push ahead my dear readers! Vote for my new hair style.

Cajun music at the “Rathausmarkt”

Hier kommen noch die versprochenen Bilder von uns als wir bei “Le Clou” auf dem Rathausmarkt in town waren. Es gab jede Menge Bierstände und natürlich Bratwurst vom Schwenkgrill. Unter all den Bierständen gab es auch einen Kakabellenbierstand. Was ist Kakabellenbier? Das wussten wir bis dahin auch nicht.
Produktion und Vertrieb von alkoholhaltigen Erfrischungsgetränken haben eine lange Tradition in Eckernfoerde. Bereits im 15./16. Jahrhundert war das weithin bekannte und beliebte Bier mit dem unaussprechlichen Namen “Quackeltheiß” ein echter Exportschlager, denn es schmeckte nicht nur gut, sondern war auch verdauungsfördernd.
Selbst am königlichen Hof in Kopenhagen wurde es getrunken. Auch dem päpstlichen Legaten, Kardinal Raimund Peraudi, wurde bei seinem Besuch im Jahre 1503 der süffige Gerstensaft kredenzt, der es ob seiner abführenden Wirkung als “caca bellam” lobte.
Danach hieß es dann “Kakabellenbier” und wurde im ganzen Land bekannt. Auf der Webseite zum Bier gibt es noch mehr Infos.
Der Kakabellenweg, ein Straßenname in Eckerfoerde, erinnert heute noch an das gute Bier von damals.
Seit 2005 gibt es nun eine Neuauflage des Bieres und Nathan und ich haben es das erste Mal letzte Woche getrunken. Prädikat: sehr lecker.

Here you get the promised photos of us at the concert of “Le Clou” at the town hall’s square in town.
There they had lots of beer stands and of course good German Bratwurst from the grill. From all beer stands there was one with Kakabelle beer. What is Kakabelle beer? We didn’t know it so far either.
Production and distribution of alcoholbased refreshing drinks have a long tradition in Eckernfoerde. In the 15th/16th century already the known and popular beer with the weird name “Quackeltheiss” was a real export hit, because it not only taste good, it also was digestive.
It was even drunk at the royal court in Kopenhagen. The legate Kardinal Raimund Peraudi was offered the beer in 1503. He praised the beer’s laxative effect with the words “caca bellam”.
[To understand the words formation: the German word for shit is Kacke (colloquial) which sounds similar to Caca... ]
After that, the beer’s name was Kakabelle beer and it became famous in the whole country. On the website you’ll find more information about the beer (in German).
Today, the “Kakabellenweg”, a street name in Eckerfoerde, still reminds on the good beer at that time.
Since 2005 the beer can be bought again, in a little changed mixture (no digestive anymore). Nathan and I tried it the first time last week. Grade: very delicious.
