Augenkrebs anyone?
missyCola @ 8:00 pm Kategorie: BloggingNo one complaining about the new background colour? Hehe, probably nobody is visiting my blog anymore, because I am unintentionally hiding from it. It will change soon!
19.June 2008Last day of autumn means WINTER season begins
missyCola @ 2:33 pm Kategorie: PerthI am sorry for not writing regularly in my blog at the moment. I feel guilty. I wish I had my laptop with me to quick-edit my tons of photos, upload them and post a short “what has happened so far” story.
Opening one photo on this computer here sounds like the computer will crash….drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr drrr drrrrrr drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and so on. After about 30 seconds I can look at that photo. Nice, huh? You know I am an impatient missy and this computer stuff here at the moment gets on my nerves. I already wanted to buy that laptop that I’ve already put on my want-list in Germany, but now they changed the equipment and I don’t know if I still want it…besides that I don’t really want to spend the money for it at the moment. Argh, what a bad situation…for nerdy Cola.
missy arrived in down under in late autumn. She is happy that Australia actually has the falling leaves season (besides a summer like season all year), the prove is shown here: will be added another time I guess. I can’t upload anything from here…sigh.
Today is the last day of autumn, which means tomorrow starts the winter season. Right now I sit outside, on our terrace in the sun, at Nathan’s Powerbook, getting an application ready, eating my new favorite soy ice-cream,…YES, you got it right…it is WINTER and I am sitting outside and eat ice-cream!!! How nice can life be, huh?
Well, back to work. Just want to let you know that I am fine!
Hopefully I can find a better “digital Cola treasure” possibility (aka new PC! Laptop?) soon. Still, our slow internet connection at home won’t change for a while, so I won’t be in sky*pe and all that other communication stuff out here.
9.June 2008Happy Birthday to meee
missyCola @ 10:54 am Kategorie: Natey&Cola & PixJust had this awesome birthday breakfast made by mr.Natey. Buckwheat pancakes with bananas and chocolate inside and choc, honey and vanilla soy ice cream (!!!) on top, plus fresh mango fruit and a cup of coffee. Delicious!!
Besides this great start of the day it is bucketing down since last night. We have a bad weather storm over Perth, too bad, but anyway we’re off to IKEA now! Not that is was my wish for today but we need stuff anyway and it is the best weather to do these kind of things. Yay, and guess what, my man is even excited to go to IKEA with me!
It’s my lucky day.
It is almost winter and we jumped in
missyCola @ 10:59 pm Kategorie: Natey&Cola & Perth & Pix6.6.2008: Scarborough Beach, it was a wonderful day and the water was almost warmer than the Baltic Sea (Ostsee) in Germany in summer time!! Unbelievable, I thought it would be too cold, because it is almost winter here! Except for a few surfers and a few people there was almost nobody at the beach. We tested the water temperature and thought it is warm! so we ran in and fought the (strong) waves and watched the surfers and had a lot of fun with splashing. Just great! Me, who is always freezing can only say> the water was amazingly warm!
Also rein da! Genial…ich als Frostbeule kann nur sagen> es war erstaunlich warm, das Wasser! Wir haben mit den Wellen gekaempft und den Surfern zugeschaut und hatten maechtig Spass beim Planschen.
For Hannah: not just lying around, being lazy, no, he was very studious
Toeroe!!! Welcome to Perth
missyCola @ 1:59 pm Kategorie: Perth & PixMist, ich habe kein “oe” hier.
Hi there, I am sorry for the late blog entry, but to my excuse: I didn’t have a computer to use (I didn’t bring mine) and I was quite busy with falling head over onto the land down under.
Unbelievable, but I am really here, in PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

and of course, as I said, my first meal was s-u-s-h-i, which we actually ate on a park bench outside of the Galleria (shopping mall) as a quick dinner. Together with some wheat-free soy sauce, called Tamari, for the missy, which the lady proudly holds in her hand.

You may wonder about the medium quality photos, well, I must say they are taken with my new mobile phone’s camera! Yay! On my first day Nathan went to the Galleria in Morley with me to get me a mobile phone…it is the same that he has and probably the best deal from all prepay phones. Yes, they actually call it prepay here, and not prepaid. Anyway, this is my new communication (toy) thingy:

Cool, huh? Back to Nokia (from my Samsung I had before). The phone does all kinds of modern things and the best, it has a photo camera (only 2MP, but better than nothing), so I could take a lot of photos in my first days, which I will show you in the next days.
I am sitting on an old iMac right now. Nathan found it placed as garbage on the side of the road, but it works fine…it is just very slow…256 RAM and a 400MHz G3 processor. Opening a page takes looong, and I should not try to edit photos on it or do anything else than browsing the net.
I can’t work on this computer and will probably borough a laptop from Uni (if possible) until I have my own laptop.
Sorry that I don’t have more news for you now…the photo-how-cola-arrived-down-under-story follows soon.
I can only say that I’m fine and Perth is wonderful as I had it in my memories, only the fact that everything is very damn expensive now bothers us and doesn’t make life easy. Last time (4 years ago) Nathan paid for his 3 bedroom house’s rent about AU $ 240/week and our house here has only one bedroom and one bathroom more and the rent is 640/week. :eek
Everything seems to be very expensive…it doesn’t matter if it is chocolate *smile* or food in general or rent or home appliances…sigh. More details about this and my first days in Perth when I have a better computer to work with. (Actually I wrote this entry here yesterday for about 3 hours and then the (internet) network connection died and the computer froze and I could not do anything other than shut it down. Grrr…)
